The scrapped 2018 album refers to Chappell Roan's unreleased debut studio album, intended as a follow-up to her 2017 EP School Nights. However, it was ultimately shelved by Atlantic Records.

Background[]

Roan started working on new music before School Nights was even released, as shown by her performing "Lavish" prior to the EP's release. The EP was also stated by Roan to be a "glimpse" of what the album was about.[1]

In an interview with Unclear Magazine she would start working on the project again after she goes back to Los Angeles after finishing the "Lay It On Me Tour". She also stated at that time that she and her label weren't fully decided on if the project released was going to be an album or another EP, and that new music was going to release in early 2018.[1]

During an interview with Anchr Magazine on April 2, 2018, Roan stated that she was "finishing up" the album. She also said that people could expect new music somewhere later that year.[2]
